Do you need to replace the turbine and support on your softener? You've made it to the right place. Below, we'll walk through the steps to get them replaced and then run a quick test to make sure it's working right. Let's get started!
Tools Needed: Cloth, Needle nose pliers (optional)

Step 1 - Bypass & Depressurize
1. First, you'll need to bypass the water softener by pushing the handle IN on the back of your unit. This will stop water from coming in or out of the softener while you work:
2. Now you'll depressurize your unit by running a Recharge cycle. Hold the Recharge button until you hear the motor start to spin, and then release. You'll see ‘Recharge Now’ or ‘Recharging’ flashing on the screen.
3. To speed up the cycles, press the Recharge button once each time the motor stops spinning. Repeat this until the ‘Recharge Now’ or ‘Recharging’ disappears from the screen.
Step 2 - Locate Parts & Replace
1. At the back of the softener, on the bypass assembly, you'll remove the black c-clips connecting it to the softener. You'll pull one side of the black plastic c-clip away from the softener, and slowly roll it towards the other side of the c-clip to remove.
Note: If the clips are still aren't easy to remove, they may be bound because the system isn't completely level. Slowly and gently rock the softener back and forth slightly while applying pressure to the c-clip as described above to free them.
2. Pull your softener forward and away from the Bypass assembly. Inside the Outlet port, you'll see the white plastic stem on the Turbine Support. Pull the stem out with your hand or pliers.
3. Go ahead and wipe the inside of the Outlet port clean with a cloth.
4. Find your new Turbine Support. You'll hold it by the stem and place the turbine on it (magnets face up towards you). You can blow on the turbine to confirm it spins freely.
5. Now reinsert the 2-piece system in the Outlet port, with the magnets facing in towards the head of the unit. Make sure to push that stem in as far as it'll go. Then blow on the turbine again to confirm it's still able to spin freely inside the port.
6. To reassemble, you'll push the softener back onto the bypass assembly.
7. Reapply the black C-clips.
8. Open the bypass valve by pulling the handle back OUT to allow water through the system again. Check for any leaking here.
Step 3 - Testing the Turbine
1. Hold the Select button until ‘000’ appears on the screen, then let go.
2. Turn on the hot water side of a faucet downstream of your unit and watch to see the ‘000’ count quickly as the water passes through the unit. Do the numbers count?
- YES - Great! Your good to go!
- NO - If the ‘000’ doesn't count, double-check that your unit is out of bypass (handle pulled OUT) and feel free to check several faucets with this test.
