Yes! The bypass assembly can function the same way – OUT for allowing water flow, and IN for bypass (stopping flow) – if it's flipped 180°, with the plumbing coming in from the bottom.
Important Note: The incoming feed water still needs to enter on the right, and exit to your home on the left (when looking from the front of the unit).
